Rotary Clubs of Portsmouth & Dominica raised over $16000 for Haiti during the Charter Night Event of the Rotary Club of Portsmouth at Fort Shirley.

In December 2016 the Rotary Club of Portsmouth celebrated their 3rd Charter Year. As Rotarians believe in service above self the club decided to have a joint fund raising with the Rotary Club of Dominica (Roseau) to help the people of Haiti. The event was a big success and we raised over $16000 !!! (exact amount not verified yet as funds are still coming in.)

With many thanks to all our SPONSORS who donated $50 vouchers for a raffle at the event.

Thanks to the 2 MC's Rotarian Gloria (Rotary Club of Dominica) and Rotarian Kev (Rotary Club of Portsmouth) who showed that together we can achieve more.

If you never been to Fort Shirley we highly recommend to come and visit. The location was top and thanks to the members of the Rotary Club of Portsmouth who helped with the decorations and catering for this successful event.

Let's follow the event and enjoy the pictures of the guest arriving for the dinner.

During the dinner President Stewart from the Rotary Club of Portsmouth opened the event our AG Haynes expressed thanks to both clubs for the achievement of this event. Rotarian Cecil from the Rotary Club of Dominica and National Disaster Coordinator for Dominica gave us some inside "disaster planning" information.

At the moment the Rotary Club of Portsmouth is concentrating on "small" community projects (like Calls, Benches at Purple Turtle Beach etc.) and in May / June we will need the help from all our friends again for our yearly 5k Fun Run Fund Raising Event.
